The Lotus Sutra: 100% whole and complete

The Buddha likened his pre-Lotus-Sutra teachings to watered down milk

Today, I read and briefly discuss passages from two of Nichiren’s writings. The first one is “A comparison of the Lotus and Other Sutras,” from The Writings of Nichiren Daishonion, Vol 1, starting on page 1038. The second one is “On The Protection of the Nation,” from WND, Vol 2, starting on page 101.

In these writings, Nichiren urges us to read the Lotus Sutra rather than think it’s over our heads. He warns us to not allow Buddhist leaders who seem larger than life to peddle knock-off versions of the sutra to us for the sole purpose of increasing their fame and getting rich off our money.

The video freezes at 09:22 but the sound continues.
